A Charlotte electrical contractor that answers the phone
Voltwren Electric is a licensed North Carolina electrical contractor working residential jobs across Charlotte and Lake Norman. Every electrician on your job is employed by us, background-checked, and carrying our insurance — we do not sub out residential work.
The short version
We quote in writing before we start, we pull the permit, and we clean up. That is most of it. The rest is showing up in the window we promised and telling you the truth about what your house needs, including the times the honest answer is a smaller job than the one you called about.
Electrical work is one of the few trades where cutting a corner can burn a house down years later, long after anyone remembers who did it. We would rather lose a bid than be the reason for that.
Five things, every job
A firm written quote
Before work starts, not after. If we find something genuinely unexpected we stop and talk to you rather than adding it to the invoice.
The permit, pulled
We file it, we coordinate the utility, we schedule the inspection. Unpermitted electrical work is a problem at resale and a problem with your insurer.
Our own electricians
Employed by us, background-checked, covered by our insurance. Nobody you have not met is working in your house.
A labeled panel
Every circuit we touch gets identified and labeled. The next person who opens that panel — including you at 2am — should not have to guess.
A clean finish
Drop cloths down, holes patched, dust vacuumed, offcuts hauled away. You should not be able to tell where we set up.
A real phone line
Someone picks up, around the clock for emergencies. Not a form, not a callback queue.
Licensed, insured, and inspected
- NC ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR LICENSE
- #U.34218
- INSURANCE
- General liability and workers' compensation, certificate available on request
- LICENSED IN
- North Carolina and South Carolina
- WORK PERMITTED THROUGH
- Mecklenburg, Iredell, Gaston and York (SC) counties
Ask any electrician you are considering for their license number and their certificate of insurance. A reputable one will hand both over without hesitating, and it takes two minutes to verify a license with the state board.
If you are in Fort Mill or anywhere else across the state line, ask specifically about South Carolina. A North Carolina license does not cover work in SC, and plenty of Charlotte outfits will take the job anyway.
Tell us what's going on
Send it over and a licensed electrician calls you back within one business hour, 7am to 7pm. Firm written quotes, permitted work, no surprises at the invoice.
