HOW IT GOES

The process, start to finish

01

Call, do not text

For a genuine emergency call the line. It reaches an on-call electrician around the clock, not a voicemail box we clear in the morning.

02

Make it safe first

If you can reach the panel safely, cut the breaker to the affected circuit — or the main, if you are not sure which one it is. If you smell burning and cannot find the source, get everyone out and call the fire department before you call us.

03

We isolate and stabilize

The first job on arrival is making the house safe, not producing a quote. We isolate the fault and get you back to a stable state.

04

Repair, then plan

We repair what can be repaired that night, and give you a written scope for anything that needs daylight, parts, or a permit.

PRICING

What emergency service costs

After-hours emergency calls carry a dispatch fee that covers the first hour on site, quoted to you on the phone before we roll a truck. Nobody should be doing mental arithmetic about a burning smell — you will know the number before we leave the shop, and we will not add to it without telling you first.

QUESTIONS

Emergency Electrical questions

Anything burning, sparking, arcing, or hot to the touch. A downed service line. Water meeting live wiring. A total loss of power that is not the utility's outage. If you are unsure, call and describe it — we will tell you honestly whether it can wait until morning.
If you smell burning and cannot immediately identify the source, or you see smoke, call 911 first. We are electricians, not a fire crew. Once the house is safe, call us and we will take it from there.
Check whether the neighbors are out too, and check the Duke Energy outage map. A whole-street outage is theirs. If it is only your house, or only half your house, that is very often a service or panel issue and it is ours.
