Electricians in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte is our home base. It is really a dozen housing stocks in one city. A Dilworth bungalow and a Ballantyne new-build have almost nothing in common electrically, so we quote them very differently.

WHAT WE SEE HERE

Charlotte homes, and what they need

Pre-war bungalows and four-squares

Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood and Wesley Heights are full of homes on their second or third electrical life. We still find live knob-and-tube in attics. Panels are fed by cloth-jacketed service cable, and whole kitchens run on two circuits.

1960s and 70s ranches

This is the aluminum branch wiring era. Sharon Woods, Sardis Woods and much of east Charlotte were built between 1965 and 1973, when aluminum was standard. It is not automatically a rewire. It does need remediation at every connection.

New construction in the south

Ballantyne, Blakeney and Berewick homes are generally sound, but they were built to a builder's budget. The common ask is capacity for what came after: an EV charger, a hot tub, a finished bonus room, a home office.
